Writing

Peter Thomson, writer, speaker, consultantOver the last thirty years I have built up a wealth of ideas about the world of work. From my days in the IT industry where I saw the birth of mobile working, through to my work with clients grappling with flexible working, I have observed dramatic changes in technology, society and organisational cultures. At Henley Business School I was instrumental in researching the evolving work patterns and their impact on management. With this background I realised in 2010 that I had a wealth of ideas about the Future of Work that I wanted to share.

After teaming up with Alison Maitland, we wrote ‘Future Work’ which turned out to be a best-seller. We revised and expanded it in 2014 and it continues to be relevant today. Meanwhile my ideas on effective work patterns have continued to develop and I have written many articles and blogs on related topics. I was the main contributor to the book ‘Conquering Digital Overload’ published in 2017 as a compilation of inputs from members of the Future Work Forum.

I am now in the process of writing a book about a self-managing organisation and continuing to share my ideas by writing blogs and articles. I am busy collecting ideas to fill another book based on the WiseWork principles. But, amongst all this activity, I am still interested in contributing to other publications in this fascinating field of new working practices..
